CCS world projects: Gorgon
Project Overview
The Gorgon gas field, off the north-west coast of Australia, is one of the world’s premier hydrocarbon resources, and the development of a LNG plant is planned for this location. It is also planned for approximately 3-4Mt per annum of CO2 to be captured from the natural gas, injected into the Dupuy Formation, a gas field that is situated near Barrow Island, and monitored. Storage is expected to begin in 2012.
