CCS world projects: Aalborg
Project Overview
Vattenfall plans to build a new coal-fired power plant with post-combustion capture injecting 1.8 million tonnes of CO2 per year from 2013. The CO2 will be captured and transported to a geological structure where it will be stored in a reservoir at a depth between one and two kilometres below the surface in northern Jutland.
