CCS world projects: CarbonNet

Project Overview

CarbonNet, organised by the Victorian Government, is a CO2 storage hub collecting captured CO2 from Latrobe Valley industry, including coal-fired power plants. It aims to capture 3 and 5 Mt of CO2 per annum from a number of high emissions sources, transport as a network via common user infrastructure and store in suitable geological formations, subject to appropriate regulatory and safety considerations.
