Purpose

This activity applies reservoir simulation to site models developed in the regional studies activity. This provides information on the migration and final containment of injected carbon dioxide for the given sites.

Summary

Using the software available to the CO2CRC, this activity takes reservoir models built by geologists and conducts simulation to forecast migration paths, final containment and security of injected carbon dioxide. This involves making decisions about injection points, numbers of wells and injection strategies. Output from this activity feeds into economic analysis and monitoring design.
